SATURDAY 2nd November 2019

10.30–2.00pm 4 of 4 spaces available

If you've thought about having a go at Free Motion Machine Embroidery but not known where to start, this is the class for you. During this 3.5 hour class I'll guide you through some basic skills that will get you started on this absorbing technique. At the end of the session you will have a good basic knowledge of the process and something decorative to take home with you. My teaching style is relaxed which enables you to bring along your own ideas to work on or turn up and work on something on the day.

If you are new to Free Motion Embroidery and your sewing machine I would recommend taking this class as a starting point before tackling Hoop Pictures. If you are already familiar with your machine, but just new to the technique you could still benefit from this class or try one of my themed workshops.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to bring your own sewing machine with embroidery foot & be able to lower/cover the feed dogs.

COST: £55 (this includes a small supply of basic and decorative fabrics, craft materials & refreshments)

This was my second workshop with Sue. She was helpful and encouraging as ever, particularly when I was having trouble with my 40-year-old sewing machine. Sue makes sure everyone is making progress, intervening in a non-obtrusive way when things aren't going so well. I came away with a piece which I felt quite proud of and I was doubly pleased today to see it as an example of beginners' work on her website. Thanks for another great workshop.

A lovely way to spend a day in Sue's studio filled with her own wonderful work, inspiration and lovely crafting materials. Sue not only encouraged us to experiment in our introduction to machine embroidery but also taught me things I didn't know about my machine and hand embroidery. Topped off with lots of tea and cake. I'm inspired to get embroidering for our wedding!

Sue is a lovely lady and the course was just brilliant. It was informal, in a lovely setting and very informative. I learnt the basics of machine embroidery plus, I feel, some more intermediate techniques .... Sue's help & guidance has given me confidence to expand on what I learnt. She certainly is one talented lady as her log cabin is full of her very creative and stunning pieces; and work in progress. ... I would certainly recommend Sue and her course/s. Her husband makes very good tea too!
